Safari Highlights

Day 1- Arrival, Drive from Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park for Game Drive. (5 HOURS)

You will be picked up by the WildBreeze Safaris driver-guide who will brief you about the entire journey. Later you will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park- Uganda’s smallest savannah park whose acacia forestland supports substantial herds of zebras, colorful antelopes, giraffes and over 350 bird species.

You will arrive at the park in time for Lunch.

In the afternoon/evening, head out for an afternoon game drive where you will catch animals like; Burchell’s zebras, Nubian giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, elands, Defassa waterbucks, Bohor’s reedbuck, Common Duiker and klipspringers.

You will later return to your lodge for overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2- Morning Boat Ride on Lake Mburo and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will have an early breakfast and check out from the lodge. After, you will go for a morning boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will catch up with more animal species including hippos and crocodiles, plus several bird species such as the African Fish Eagle, Pied King Fisher, and African Fin foot all the while breathing in the WILDBREEZE while being drifted away by the marvel and aura of Lake Mburo.

Afterward, you will embark on a 7-hour journey to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.  It also provides abode to other primate mammals like black and white Columbus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, chimpanzees, De Brazza monkeys, spectacled Galago monkeys, among others. Bwindi forest also has wildlife animals such as elephants, buffaloes, yellowed-backed duikers, bush pigs, golden cats, forest hogs, bats, rodents, and black-fronted duikers, plus numerous bird species

Day 3- Gorilla Trekking

Wake up early morning for your breakfast and later transfer to the Bwindi National Park reception for registration. After registration, you will be entertained by a group of traditional female dancers. You will later be assigned a guide and rangers who will lead you on your exploration and expedition. You will carry your parked lunch with you and some water in your back bag. The tracking hours vary depending on the day’s movement of the actual Gorilla family you are tracking. This could be between 45 minutes to 7 hours. When you meet them, you will be allowed one full hour to interact with them, an experience no one can fully put in words. You ought to experience it to feel it.

In the evening, you will enjoy the Batwa Trail, a firsthand introduction to one of the most unique cultures worldwide. The Batwa pygmies are a forest people displaced from the rain forest they shared with mountain gorillas. This experience will give you the opportunity to learn more about their age old culture while you enjoy a hike with the Batwa guides, listen to folklore and experience their lifestyle.

Day 4-Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha for Tree Climbing Lions (4-5 hours)

 After breakfast, say goodbye to the land of mountain gorillas and transfer to the mighty Queen Elizabeth National Park home to the tree climbing lions. Lunch will be served on arrival at the lodge.

Depending on your fatigue from the previous day’s trekking, you may choose to check into the lodge to relax, swim, or prepare for the next day’s activities. You might however opt for an evening game drive.

Day 5- Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

You will have an early morning breakfast and then readout for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains where you will meet African elephants, African Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, lions among others.  Be on the lookout for hunting leopards.  To this, the park boasts a record of over 600 bird species. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch

In the afternoon, you will go for a two hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The Kazinga channel is a 42 km stretch, connecting Lake George and Lake Edward with satisfying big herds of buffaloes, a school of hippos, Nile crocodiles, bathing elephants and several bird species like the rare African skimmers and Lesser Flamingos.

After the cruise, we can opt for a sundowner at one of the crater lakes or transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 6-Transfer to Kibale National Park. (3 HOURS)

 Located in western Uganda, Kibale National Park is the best destination for chimpanzee trekking and is home to 13 primate species with the loftiest population of chimpanzees, and it’s covered in thick timber with big tall trees proving abode for the habituated primates.  Kibale National Park has 13 primate species which are chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, grey-cheeked manga, Ugandan red colobus monkeys, central African monkeys among others, and chimpanzees with the largest population of 1450 individuals.
Apart from being a home of primates, this park houses other wildlife species in its  thick forests and these include elephants, golden cats ,leopards, Harvey’s duiker, giant forest hog, sitatunga, marsh Mangoose, warthog and others. Cap it up with about 375 attractive colorful species Ground Thrush birds which are endemic to Kibale national park,

Day 7-Chimp tracking in Kibale National Park and Bigodi wetland sanctuary walk

After morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park Headquarters located at Kanyanchu. Here, you will join other trekkers for briefing before you proceed into the forest for chimpanzee trekking. You will be led by a well-trained and experienced ranger/guide who will take you for a guided primate walk inside Kibale Forest National Park.  Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees. Approximately 5,000 chimpanzees live in the wild in Uganda, which makes it a perfect place to spot them! An experienced ranger will take you chimp tracking in the morning. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will spend an hour with them and then head back to your lodge for Lunch.

After Lunch, you will be taken for a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary a birder’s paradise.  You will see several primates mostly monkeys, several bird species and butterflies.

You will later retire to your lodge for overnight stay, relaxation and dinner.

Day 8-Drive Back to Kampala/ Entebbe Airport to End the Safari.

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey back to Kampala. You shall have an en-route stopover at the equator for a photo session and you may also purchase some hand-made craft souvenirs before you proceed with your journey to the airport to end the safari. Lunch will be served en-route.
