Rwanda is beautiful landlocked country located in East, and Central Africa. The country is nicknamed as the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’; because of its green and stunning mountainous landscapes. It boasts of its majestic volcanoes and spectacular wildlife. Though Rwanda has suffered a turbulent history in recent years, which saw it go through a genocide (OVER 300,000 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES) it has one of the fastest growing tourism sectors in Africa today; as a result, the industry contributes the highest amount of foreign exchange for the country’s government. Rwanda is home to golden monkeys and about ten habituated mountain gorilla families. These include Sabyinyo, Susa, Karisimbi, Umubano, Amahoro, Kwitonda,Hirwa, Bwenge, Agashya and Ugyenda.
This 2 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda takes you to Kigali for a city tour and a gorilla trek in volcanoes national park. Volcanoes National Park is located in a small village called Musanze a 2 hours’ drive from Kigali. It is very accessible by public transport from Gisenyi or Kigali or the airport. Therefore it’s possible to do gorilla trekking on the same day and drive back to Kigali after the trek.
Itinerary
Day1 Kigali - Volcanoes National Park.
Our guide will pick you from your lodge in Kigali in the morning. Enjoy the Kigali city tour where you will visit the Rwanda genocide memorial site and the local market. Have lunch and drive to Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi guesthouse (B.L.D)

Day2 Gorilla Trekking- Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters to be briefed by the rangers before your trek. The park ranger leads a group of 8 individuals during this fantastic adventure. After the Gorilla trekking, you will have lunch and later visit the twin lake Bulera and Ruhondo

3 Days Gorilla Trekking

This 3 Days Rwanda Gorilla trekking safari, allows you to go to the volcanoes national park. The Park is located in the northwestern part of Rwanda. Volcanoes National park lies in the chain of the great Virunga. The Virunga has 7 summits which are Sabinyo, Muhabura, Gahinga, Karisimbi, Bisoke, Nyiragongo and Nyamulangira. The park lies next Mgahinga and Virunga National Parks in Uganda and Congo respectively. This Park has been made famous as the monument of Dian Fossey (the great primatologist) and home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas and the unique golden monkeys.
Besides Mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, the Volcanoes National Park is also a habitat for the black-fronted duiker, bushbucks, elephants, forest buffalos, spotted hyenas, and over 178 bird species.
Meet up with Wild Breeze Tours and Safaris guide who will brief you about the tour. You will Head out for a tour of Kigali City which will cover the genocide memorial site where you will learn how over 300,000 people lost their lives in 1994. Tour Kigali local markets to feel the Rwandese culture.
Lunch will be arranged, then later visit the King’s Palace as you get ready for 2 hours’ drive to Volcanoes national park.
Following an early breakfast, drive to the Park Headquarters for briefing. It is done at 7:00 am at Park headquarters. After the briefing, trekkers choose Gorilla families to trek. Trekking in Rwanda avails several families, to choose from. They are usually selected depending on the fitness of the trekkers. Gorilla trekking experience can be challenging but gives a lifetime experience as you watch these gentle giants carry on with their daily tasks.
After breakfast, at your pace, you will embark on your return journey to Kigali through the gently winding roads and beautiful cities to the airport to catch up your international flight back home. However, you can choose to do your city tour on this day instead of when starting the safari.

Day 1
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
You will be picked from your residence or Airport in Kigali by our safari guide. Go for a city tour where you will visit the Genocide memorial site. Have lunch and drive to Volcanoes National Park for lodge check in and relaxation.
Day 2
Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, head to the park HQ for briefing while with the mountain gorillas. Trek the volcanoes forest in search of the gentle giants. You will be allowed to spend an hour observing & taking pictures till the end of this Segment
Day 3
Transfer to Lake Kivu
After breakfast, you will be driven to Lake Kivu for a boat ride. You will encounter numerous bird species and be mesmerized by the sights of the hills and mountains. Rwanda is a sight to behold.you will have lunch and then visit the fishing villages and Islands of Amahoro, Napoleon, and Nkombo. You will later visit the Nyamyumba hot spring.
Day 4
Transfer back to Kigali
Finally, in the morning after breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali to catch your flight back home.
