About the Safari

Embark on a 9-Day Ultimate Uganda Safari, visiting Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Lake Bunyonyi. This adventure offers a unique blend of wildlife experiences, from tracking the endangered Mountain Gorillas and chimpanzees, to encountering the Big Five and diverse bird species in Uganda’s most iconic parks. Journey through lush jungles, savannahs, and serene lakes on this unforgettable wildlife expedition.

Safari Highlights

Day 1-Arrival and Transfer to hotel. (10-15 minutes.)

You will be picked at the airport by your assigned WildBreeze Safaris drive-guide and transferred to your Hotel for relaxation and briefing about the entire journey. Depending on your time of arrival, you may opt to take a walk to the Entebbe Botanical gardens home to several birds and some primates.  That will be the ultimate welcome to the pearl of Africa.

Day 2-Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After an early morning breakfast, you will picked up at 7.am by your assigned driver-guide and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking.

Afterwards you will continue to the top of Murchison falls to see the waters of the River Nile; as they force their way through the narrow 7-meter gorge and still stunningly drop below to 43 meters where they form a permanent rainbow.  This is a great place for photo moments as you will be so close to the waters. Later you will retire to the lodge for overnight and dinner. We shall make a stop over for lunch en-route.

Drive time. 6-7 hours excluding time at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 3-Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Nile

After a very early breakfast, you will depart for a morning game drive to the northern part of the park where you will see elephants, bushbucks, lions, and leopards (on a good day.) Buffaloes as well as giraffes.  You will later return to your Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will embark for a 2 hours boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison Falls.  Expect to see hippos and Nile crocodiles; as well as buffaloes, elephants and several birds along the shores.

Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4-Transfer to Fort Portal Town

You will drive from Murchison Falls National Park and head Southwest going through the beautiful Albertine Escarpment in the Rift Valley to Fort-Portal town. (The tourism capital of Uganda.)This town is also the capital of Toro kingdom overlooking the great “Mountains of the Moon,” Mt. Rwenzori. Lunch will be served en-route.

You will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 -Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth, expect to see some animals like the tree climbing Lions, Elephants and Buffalos as you drive to your lodge.

You will arrive in time for Lunch.

 In the afternoon, you will enjoy a thrilling 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga channel a 32 kilometer natural water channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George. It is home to several bird and animal species/ Expect to see elephants, buffaloes and hippos swimming. Several reptiles like the Nile crocodile, the giant minster Lizard among others plus several birds. (Your binoculars will come in handy if you love birds.)  In the evening you will drive to the crater-lakes region for another tour.

After the day’s explorations, you will retire to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 6 - Morning game drive and afternoon Chimpanzee Tracking – Kyambura Gorge

Wake up early and have your breakfast. Afterwards, you will go for an exciting early game drive going along Queen’s mile and the Kasenyi track. You will encounter warthogs, lions, buffaloes, antelopes and elephants. Be on the lookout for the elusive leopard in the tress. This will be capped up with several bird species along the safari drive.

In the afternoon you will then drive to the Kyambura gorge; where you will track habituated chimpanzees as well as encounter several other primates.

Day 7-Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha sector. (5 – 6 hours)

You will have breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive southwards to Bwindi via Ishasha. Look out for the famous tree climbing lions in the acacia trees.

You will arrive in the evening and retire into your lodge as you plan for the next day’s gorilla trek.

Day 8- Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Wake up early, have breakfast, take your packed lunch and be at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park Headquarters for the Mountain Gorilla Tracking (Trekking) orientation and meeting with guides and separation into groups depending on which group you will be tracking. At 8.30 you enter the forest to track the Mountain Gorillas.

Tracking can take from an hour to three quarters of the day depending on the movement of the particular Gorilla family being tracked. You will trek through, thick creepers, encountering several animal trails as you transform in to a tracker.

After the experience, return to the lodge, check out and then drive to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale known as the “Switzerland of Uganda.” Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush green terraced hills that reach heights beyond 2000 meters. You will amazed by the 29 scattered islands across this magnificent marvel of nature.

Day 9- Canoe Ride and Departure

Finally, you will enjoy a 2 hours canoe ride on the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi to see different small islands. You might cap it up with a visit to the local Bakiga people as well as learn about their amazing culture. Later you will embark on your journey to Kampala with a stop over at the Equator for photo moments. Lunch will be organized en-route.
