7-Day Gorilla Trekking & Tour of the Pearl of Africa
Day 1: Arrival and Airport Pickup
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be greeted by your assigned Wild Breeze Safaris driver-guide, who will transfer you to your hotel for relaxation and a briefing about your upcoming adventure. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to take a stroll to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, home to a variety of bird species and primates. This will be the perfect introduction to the Pearl of Africa.

Day 2: Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park (7-8 hours)
After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up, and you’ll embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Equator for photos and make a second stop in Mbarara for lunch. After lunch, you’ll continue your journey, enjoying scenic views of tea plantations, open grasslands, long-horned Ankole cattle, woodlands, and the Rift Valley Escarpment.
If time permits, you’ll take your first game drive in the park, where you’ll have the chance to spot various animals and colorful birds. Your guide will explain the different species of trees, birds, animals, and reptiles, including warthogs, giant African elephants, lions, and more.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early to the misty shadows of the Mountains of the Moon and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea before heading out on a morning game drive to see the early risers and nocturnal hunters before they retreat from the African sun.
In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, a 33km-long stretch linking Lake George to Lake Edward. The channel boasts one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world, along with Nile crocodiles and a variety of bird species along the banks.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (5 hours)
After breakfast at 06:30, you’ll travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. On the way, you’ll stop in the Ishasha sector of the park, searching for tree-climbing lions. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, with the option to enjoy a packed lunch and make several stops along the way for photo opportunities and to experience the local culture.
In the evening, check into your lodge, enjoy dinner, and prepare for your gorilla trekking adventure the following day.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, and then transfer to the Bwindi National Park reception for registration. Afterward, you’ll be entertained by a group of traditional dancers before meeting your guide and rangers, who will lead you on the gorilla trek. You’ll carry a packed lunch and some water as you head into the forest. Gorilla tracking can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the movements of the gorilla family you are tracking. Once you encounter the gorillas, you’ll be allowed one hour to observe and interact with them—an experience that’s difficult to put into words.
In the evening, enjoy the Batwa Trail, a fascinating introduction to the Batwa pygmies, who were displaced from the rainforests they once shared with the mountain gorillas. This experience offers insight into their unique culture, including folklore and their way of life.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Lake Mburo National Park (6 hours)
Say goodbye to the land of the mountain gorillas and continue to Lake Mburo National Park. Lunch will be provided en route. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and then embark on a two-hour boat trip on Lake Mburo, where you can expect to see a variety of bird species, hippos, and other wildlife. The tranquility of the lake, with animals coming to drink water, makes for a memorable experience.

Day 7: Lake Mburo to Entebbe (5-6 hours)
Wake up early to the sounds of the wild and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Afterward, your guide will take you on a morning game drive or a walking safari, depending on your preference. Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda where you can take a walking safari, where you’ll likely see impalas, zebras, elands, and other animals.
After your safari, you’ll drive back to Kampala, arriving in time for lunch. Depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy some last-minute shopping at one of Kampala’s craft villages before being transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
